# **About the Competition**
A video campaign that invites students to express themselves in French through their choice of **video, song, or written word**. Participants will have the opportunity to explore their creativity, share their unique voice and perspective while strengthening their French language skills.
## **1\. Objectives:**
- Encourage students to share their true self with the world in a way that feels authentic.
- Promote the value of bilingualism.
## **2\. Guidelines for videos:**
- Videos are to be 2 min. in length. Students can perform a song, tell a story, act out a scene, play a game, take us on a walk through their community, introduce us to a personal interest, whatever they choose with a focus on telling that story in French.
## **3\. Collaborative Challenge:**
- Encourage groups of two classmates to collaborate on videos. This can make the activity more fun.
## **4\. Submission Process:**
- Work with Brilliant Labs to establish a straightforward method for students to build and submit their videos on a safe and secure platform.
## **5\. Recognizing Participation:**
- A committee of judges could award prizes for categories like "Most Inspirational" or "Best Production." By following these steps, we could create a meaningful video campaign that not only allows students to express themselves with the French language but also underscore the broader benefits of bilingualism.
## **6\. Next Steps:**
- Identify four classrooms, one in each district to participate in the initial pilot. Identify when we could get started for pilot.
## **Potential Plan:**
- Scott Legge – Media specialist with Brilliant Labs will spend time with each class over a course of 3 days.
